    Simethicone IP 20 mg

    Magaldrate is a common antacid drug that is used for the treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers, esophagitis from gastroesophageal reflux. Simethicone is an oral anti-foaming agent used to reduce bloating, discomfort or pain caused by excessive gas — mainly swallowed air, with small amounts of hydrogen and methane— in the stomach or intestines. Simethicone is a mixture of polydimethylsiloxane and hydrated silica gel.

    ⇛ Sour stomach
    ⇛ Magaldrate/simethicone suspension is an antacid and antiflatulent combination. The antacid works by neutralizing stomach acid and increasing the pH of the stomach. The antiflatulent works by breaking up gas bubbles, which makes gas easier to eliminate.

    Mechanism of Action

    Magaldrate is an antacid that neutralizes or reduces stomach acid. It helps relieve symptoms of excessive stomach acidity in patients with indigestion, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), or stomach or duodenal ulcers .

    Side Effects

    ⇛ Intestinal pain
    ⇛ Diarrhea
    ⇛ Constipation.

    Storage

    Keep out of reach and sight of children.

    Conclusion

    Do NOT use magaldrate/simethicone suspension if:
    ⇛ You are allergic to any ingredient in magaldrate/simethicone suspension
    ⇛ You have a history of kidney problems
    ⇛ You are taking citrate salts (found in some calcium supplements, antacids, and laxatives).
