Our combination contains One of the most widely studied dietary supplements in population is inositol. And with good reason: both Myo (MYO) and d-Chiro-inositol (DCI) inositol types have been shown to improve many of the metabolic and reproductive aspects of PCOS. These benefits include improvements to cholesterol, insulin, androgens and weight. Women who take inositol report fewer cravings. Best of all, MYO has been shown to boost fertility by improving egg quality and restoring menstrual regularity and well as reduce the risk for gestational diabetes. While both MYO and DCI types offer many benefits to women with PCOS, new research now shows that it's the combination of the two types, in the body's natural ratio that shows the most benefit.

    Myo-inositol and D-chiro inositol:

Inositol is a term used to refer to a group naturally occurring Carbohydrate compounds. Inositol plays a critical role in insulin signaling. Conditions such as hyperglycemia and diabetes are associated with disrupted insulin signaling leading to insulin resistance. Thus results in infertility. INOSITOL plays a key role in follicular development, improves oocyte (egg) quality and helps in the restoration of ovulation in women.

    Vitamin D3:

Vitamin D-3 is one form of vitamin D, a fat-soluble vitamin whose main role in your body is to promote the absorption of calcium in the intestinal tract. Vitamin D also assists with cell growth, inflammation reduction, neuromuscular function and immunity. Since your body needs vitamin D to absorb calcium, a vitamin D deficiency typically results in weakened bones, called rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults.

Vitamin D3 in PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome):
Vitamin D3 supplementation helps to improve glucose metabolism and the regulation of menstruation.

    Chromium Picolinate:

Chromium is an essential trace mineral that is needed for insulin activity in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. Optimal levels may reduce insulin resistance, improve blood sugar control, and may help to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Supplementation may also help to reduce triglycerides and total cholesterol while improving HDL "good" cholesterol.

    Pharmacology

    Mechanism of Action:

Inositol is a nutritional compound that is a "work horse" nutrient for women with PCOS. Although inositol is widely considered a member of the B-vitamin family, it is technically not a vitamin because the body can manufacture inositol and is not required to get it from the diet. Inositol is a nutritional compound that has nine different forms. The most well-known and nutritionally active form is "myo-inositol", which most people simply refer to as "inositol". It is a necessary component of the membranes of your cells and is vital to many biological processes in your body. It is a precursor to a number of essential "signaling molecules" that instruct cells how to behave. Inositol is a necessary component of certain "signal transduction systems" in your body. A signal transduction is a mechanism that converts a biochemical stimulus to a cell into a specific cellular response. In other words, inositol is necessary for the regulation of the behavior of your cells. Some of the effect of inositol is related to activation of serotonin receptors, which could relieve depression and improve appetite balance. Serotonin is a brain chemical with several important functions in the body, including mood and appetite regulation. Inositol also helps to transport fat from the liver. Women with PCOS, especially those who are overweight, tend to have a fatty liver disease called NAFLD. Inositol can help to relieve this fatty liver degeneration.

    Side Effects and Safety

Inositol is possibly safe for most adults. It can cause nausea, tiredness, headache, and dizziness. Inositol is possibly safe when used in the hospital for premature infants with acute respiratory distress syndrome.

    Special Precautions and Warning

Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding: Not enough is known about the use of inositol during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.
Bipolar Disorder: There is some concern that taking too much inositol might make bipolar disorder worse. There is a report of a man with controlled bipolar disorder being hospitalized with extreme agitation and impulsiveness (mania) after drinking several cans of an energy drink containing inositol, caffeine, taurine, and other ingredients (Red Bull Energy Drink) over a period of 4 days. It is not known if this is related to inositol, caffeine, taurine, a different ingredient, or a combination of the ingredients.
